On December 12, 2022, the European Commission issued a decision approving the European Funds for Social Development Program 2021-2027 (EFSD)  (DOCX 807 KB). The program will be co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.

Following this decision, the Managing Authority of the European Funds for Social Development Program 2021-2027 (EFSD MA) began work on establishing the EFSD Monitoring Committee (MC) in accordance with the general regulation (Article 38).

About the Monitoring Committee

The Monitoring Committee is an independent advisory body established by the EFSD MA through an ordinance. Its primary purpose is to support the Managing Authority in the process of monitoring and implementing the program.

Composition of the EFSD Monitoring Committee

The EFSD Monitoring Committee consists of representatives from:

  • the EFSD Managing Authority
  • intermediate Bodies established within the EFSD implementation system
  • the Member State's institutions
  • social Partners as mentioned in Article 8 of the general regulation
  • observers

Representatives of the European Commission also participate in the work of the EFSD MC in a monitoring and advisory role.

The tasks of the MC are defined by the General Regulation (Article 40).

The working procedures, composition, and operational principles of the committee are outlined in the rules of procedure adopted during the first meeting. The rules of procedure are derived from the content of the "Guidelines on Monitoring Committees for 2021-2027" (PDF). The Secretariat of the Monitoring Committee, operating within the EFSD MA, ensures the committee's administrative support.
